Postcards from the Camper: “Wings – Do angels have them?”

Jun 10, 2024

“How precious is your steadfast love, O God!

All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings.”

Psalm 36:7

I am practicing video editing as you can tell if you watched the video; I know it’s a bit much. But be glad I’m not sharing the full 15 minutes I spoke about this topic Get me started talking about what I’m learning and it’s hard for me to stop.
(Know a good video editor? I’m praying for one.)

One thing I thought worth contemplating:
What if I had said no to Jared?
What might have I missed out on?
What might have happened?

Too often we are unwilling to ask for – or accept – help when it is offered. Sometimes it’s legitimate; “I want to see if I can do this by myself.” But, most often it’s our pride. And, I believe, we think of it as weakness.

Believe me. I know.

It’s a humbling place to be to allow others to help us.

Practice accepting help/service when it is offered. As we do, we are allowing others to serve God by serving us. That’s a pretty special thing. Practice for the times when the angels show up. Because you won’t want to miss out on that!

“Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?:
Hebrews 1:14

“Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.”
Hebrews 13:2

Keep an eye out. And, let me know when you encounter one.
